Leadership, Learning and Lasting Memories: The 2026 D.C. Summer Leadership Summit

Our annual Washington, D.C. Summer Leadership Summit is about so much more than visiting our nation’s capital. It’s about giving students the opportunity to build confidence, expand their perspectives, develop leadership skills and connect with professionals who inspire them to dream bigger.

From July 9 to 12, L.E.O. students from our partner schools made The Catholic University of America their home base for four days of learning, networking and fun.

Highlights from the week

A full-day entrepreneurship boot camp at the George Washington University Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
College and career preparation, including an admissions tour at Catholic University and a college and career workshop with Tonda Bean.
Speaker panels with leaders from government, business and public service, including Steve Rice, Senior Vice President and Deputy Chief Information Officer at Navy Federal Credit Union.
A case-study workshop led by Teddy Vagias, where students stepped into the roles of private, public and nonprofit boards to debate a case study.
An alumni night with Mount Saint Dominic Academy L.E.O. graduates, and a closing reflection to bring the week together.

Shaped by student feedback

Student feedback shapes the Summit every year. New in 2026 were a monument trolley tour, a pizza and networking mixer, and a bowling night, giving students more time to see the city and get to know each other.

Schools pay $500 per student for an experience worth about twice that, and the Foundation covers the rest. This year, more than 40 students were sponsored to attend, thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners.

We’re so proud of this incredible group and can’t wait to see where their journeys take them. The future is bright.
