tHE LEONIDAS FOUNDATION DONATES 110 mEALS TO SUPPORT BONNIE BRAE SCHOOL

Montville, NJ ~ In an effort to continue to support those in need in our community, The Leonidas Foundation was proud to donate 110 meals to the residents of the Bonnie Brae School this week.
Located in Liberty Corner, NJ Bonnie Brae takes youth from crisis to success by providing the most comprehensive care for at-risk New Jersey boys and their families. Their extraordinary school and therapeutic residential community serves boys 93 boys, aged 8-21 years. A fully accredited and nationally recognized residential treatment center, Bonnie Brae provides a safe place for boys to heal, learn, and grow. Nearly all boys who come to Bonnie Brae have suffered abuse, trauma or neglect.
This meal delivery allowed Bonnie Brae’s residents and staff to enjoy hot catered dinners from a Baldwins Pizza in Parsippany. With the assistance of Senator Anthony Bucco, The Leonidas Foundation joined together with Front Line Morris to assist their community during this difficult time. Front Line Morris is a coalition of residents organized by Morris County Freeholder Tom Masterangelo, Rob Zwigard, Chris Mazzarella, Ted Stanziale, Nick Kraus, and Justine Roche.
On behalf of Front Line Morris, Zwigard said, “Today we partnered up with a great organization for young men and women, The Leonidas Foundation. Due to their generosity, we were able to deliver 110 meals to Bonnie Brae. The Leonidas Foundation is doing amazing things for young men and women during a very difficult time.”
“We are proud to be able to provide relief from the stresses caused by COVID-19 to Bonnie Brae while supporting a local small business working tirelessly to keep its doors open,” said Matthew Perricone, President of The Leonidas Foundation. “For over 100 years, Bonnie Brae has lifted up young men in crisis. We are honored to be given this opportunity to help those helping others during these unprecedented times in our world. Our Foundation wishes them and everyone continued good health as we navigate these troubling times.”
“On behalf of my wife Frances, daughter Alexandra, and our entire family, I am grateful for the work of these volunteers who are serving those leading the fight against this terrible public health crisis,” said Teddy Vagias, Leo’s father and Foundation Trustee. “We are humbled by the opportunity to contribute to their efforts and express our sincerest support for all those on the front line fighting against the coronavirus during these trying times.”
The Leonidas Foundation was formed in 2016 in memory of Montville resident Leonidas “Leo” Vagias, an avid learner with a passion for giving back to those in need. Focusing on helping young men and women succeed through educational programs, the Foundation has dedicated much of their efforts to assisting those in need in Leo’s honor.

tHE LEONIDAS FOUNDATION EXPANDS L.E.O. PROGRAM AT DON BOSCO PREP TO 40 STUDENTS

Ramsey, NJ ~ The Leonidas Foundation & Don Bosco Preparatory High School are proud to announce that after a comprehensive interview process and extensive discussion given the level of interest and highly qualified applicant pool, the fourth cohort of the L.E.O. Program at Don Bosco Prep has been expanded to forty students.
Since its inception in the 2017-8 academic year, the L.E.O. Program has traditionally consisted of one class period of twenty-five students who enter an unparalleled high school business education curriculum focusing on Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Opportunity. Through the utilization of classroom instruction from L.E.O. Program Director John Esposito, guest speakers from a wide array of small business and corporate backgrounds, and the Summer Leadership Conference involving panel discussions with government and private sector leaders, students have received wide ranging business instruction in an interactive format.
After reviewing the applicants of the fourth cohort, the Leonidas Foundation and Don Bosco Prep have committed to expanding this course to enable forty young men to participate in this experience to prepare them for college and the business world.
“We are ecstatic to have the interest and incredible students to lead us to expand the L.E.O. Program at Don Bosco Prep,” said Matthew Perricone, President of The Leonidas Foundation. “We are blessed to have forty qualified and capable students who are eager to enter this course of instruction and benefit from the teachings of this unique course. We thank Don Bosco Prep for their partnership in this great opportunity to share this curriculum with an increased number of Ironmen”

Program is designed to prepare young men to acquire and master critical business skills as they grow and prepare for life’s next step,” said Esposito. “I am energized to work with these forty students as they embark on this course that will shape them to be the business leaders of tomorrow.”

Program family offer a number of distinct and diverse characteristics to help each other grow as peers and open minds to embrace the teachings of this course. I am overwhelmed with the support of Don Bosco Prep and The Leonidas Foundation in expanding this program and am fully confident that these young men will excel as they prepare to be masters of industry in the years to come.”
