![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Matthew Perricone, President - 973-615-3501 - leonidasfoundation@gmail.com Monday, October 21, 2019 Boonton, NJ ~ The Leonidas Foundation held its third annual Leonidas Vagias Memorial Golf Classic earlier today at The Knoll Golf Club West in Boonton. The event featured an 18 hole round of golf enjoyed by over 110 golfers followed by a dinner reception with a silent auction. All proceeds raised are used by the Foundation to fund its many initiatives aimed at enhancing the mind, body, and spirit in the youth and underprivileged. “We are humbled by the overwhelming turnout from our golf and auction participants once again,” said Matthew Perricone, the Foundation’s president. “Their continued generosity is the lifeblood that allows us to carry out our mission of educating young business minds, feeding the hungry, clothing the clothesless, and supporting other charitable endeavors.” The dinner reception prominently featured a number of students currently in the L.E.O. Program (Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Opportunity) business education track at both Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, NJ, and Mount Saint Dominic Academy in Caldwell, NJ. This program - the only of its kind in New Jersey - integrates classroom instruction and guest lectures from real-life business leaders with a summer leadership conference in Washington, D.C. The Leonidas Foundation funds a multi-year endowment and many aspects of the program in partnership with the two high schools. “Today’s event was simply awesome,” said Teddy Vagias, Trustee of The Leonidas Foundation. “It is empowering and uplifting to witness a community of charitability in action coming together to support a very worthy cause. My wife Frances, daughter Alexandra, and I are truly blessed.” For more information about charitable endeavors and volunteer opportunities with The Leonidas Foundation, please visit www.leouniteus.org.
