Newark, NJ – 10/2/2025 – The Leonidas Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Cicely Criss as the new L.E.O. Program™ Coordinator at West Side High School, where she will lead efforts to inspire and empower students through Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Opportunity.

Cicely brings a deep passion for education and student growth to her new role. With her strong ties to the West Side High School community, she is dedicated to ensuring that every student in the program feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.

“We are thrilled to welcome Cicely as our newest L.E.O. Program Coordinator,” said James Ebert, President of the Leonidas Foundation. “Her commitment to student success and her ability to connect with young people will be an incredible asset as we continue to grow and strengthen our presence at West Side High School.”

The L.E.O. Program™, inspired by the legacy of Leo Vagias, provides high school students with unique, hands-on opportunities to build leadership skills, collaborate in teams, and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Through events such as business pitch competitions, leadership workshops, and mentorship opportunities, students gain valuable experiences that prepare them for success in college, career, and life.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about the kids" said Cicely. "Every decision I make and every effort I put forward will be focused on creating opportunities for our students to grow, lead, and succeed. Their future is why we’re here, and I couldn’t be more excited to help them shine.”

The Leonidas Foundation looks forward to working alongside Cicely, the faculty, and the students of West Side High School to build on the strong foundation and to continue providing life-changing opportunities for the next generation of leaders.

Newark, NJ – 10/2/25 – The Leonidas Foundation is proud to announce that Anthony “Treach” Criss, Grammy Award-winning artist, actor, and community leader, has joined the organization’s Advisory Board. Treach will serve as a guiding voice in advancing the Foundation’s mission to empower students through Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Opportunity (L.E.O.)™.

Best known as the frontman of the legendary hip-hop group Naughty by Nature, Treach has long been recognized not only for his artistry but also for his dedication to uplifting communities and mentoring young people. Treach also was a personal mentor and friend to the Foundation's namesake, Leonidas Vagias. His appointment to the Advisory Board underscores the Foundation’s commitment to engaging leaders from diverse fields who can inspire and connect with students in meaningful ways.

“Joining the Advisory Board is an honor because it allows me to give back in a way that’s bigger than myself,” said Treach. “The L.E.O. Program is about building up the next generation, giving them the confidence, tools, and opportunities to lead. If I can help even one student believe in their potential, then I’m doing my part.”

As a member of the Advisory Board, Treach will provide strategic guidance to help expand the Foundation’s reach, strengthen partnerships, and ensure the L.E.O. Program continues to deliver transformative experiences for students across participating schools.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome Treach to our Advisory Board,” said James Ebert, President of the Leonidas Foundation. “His authenticity, influence, and commitment to young people make him a powerful role model. With his leadership, we are confident the Foundation will continue to inspire students to rise above challenges and achieve their dreams.”

The Leonidas Foundation looks forward to working alongside Treach and the Advisory Board to broaden its impact, engage more students, and further the legacy of Leo Vagias by creating opportunities where every student has a chance to shine.
